Whether you’re a parent, an aunt/uncle, a grandparent, or even the good friend of someone with kids… You’re probably looking for some unique Christmas gifts for kids around this time of year. And to help you out, I’ve compiled a list of ten items that I think every kid will love!

1. A Mini Karaoke Machine

What kid doesn’t enjoy singing along to their favorite tunes? I know this was one of my girls’ favorite activities when they were growing up, and whereas I ended up getting them some karaoke Wii games, I know they would’ve loved this mini karaoke machine.

It’s small, has great sound quality, and can connect via Bluetooth to things like Spotify and YouTube to access any song you want. Plus, as icing on the cake, it’s portable with a long lasting battery. Meaning that it could provide entertainment on-the-go, including on road trips.

2. A Doodle Board

Aside from singing at the top of their lungs, kids are also well known for doodling everywhere! And as long as they’re not doing it on your walls, this is actually a great little hobby to foster. Because it increases creativity, and helps them learn how to hone it.

This doodle board is a great way to make sure their doodling stays productive, and it contains zero blue light. So you don’t have to worry about your little one getting too much screen time. (If you want to learn about more affordable screen free activities, check out this article.)

3. Kanoodle

Next, we have a fun little brain game called Kanoodle. This is a portable puzzle that contains 200 different possibilities, so regardless of how many times you do it, it’ll always present a challenge. And it actually went viral on TikTok this year, which is where my daughter found it. (She loves it by the way.)

It’s suitable for ages seven and up, but I think it makes a great gift for teens! And if you decide you like the concept, or rather… your child does, then you’re in luck. Because aside from classic Kanoodle, there’s also variations of this game available on Amazon.

4. Walkie Talkies

I remember when I bought my kids walkie talkies for Christmas, along with some other “spy” gear that was part of the set. They loved it and immediately made up so many fun games to play with them. Including following me and their dad around the house, “gathering intel” about us.

So I highly suggest this as a Christmas gift, and this particular set of three walkie talkies actually reaches up to three miles! So it could be extra fun for your children to use in outdoor spaces where they aren’t right next to each other, such as when you’re on a family camping trip.

5. A Guess In 10 Card Game

The next gift idea I have for you is actually a somewhat educational one! And it is a Guess In 10 Animal Planet card game created by Skillmatics. It’s for ages six and up, and can be played with up to six people.

Basically how it works is that each player is given two buzz words at the beginning of their turn by someone holding a card, and they’re allowed to ask ten questions to try and guess what the animal on the card is. The card will contain basic information about the animal, so the person holding it can answer the question even if they didn’t know the info beforehand. Obviously, if the player answers correctly then they win a card and the first to win seven cards wins!

And if you like this concept, there are multiple versions of this game. With the same concept but different themes, like countries, dinosaurs, or underwater animals.

6. A Guided Mindset Journal

When we’re talking unique Christmas gifts for kids… Is there anything less expected than a guided mindset journal? I think not! Since most people don’t associate kids with journaling, especially when they’re young.

But actually, learning to journal and reflect from an early age can really benefit children. And this guided, daily journal is perfect for teaching them how. It contains all sorts of valuable information about managing feelings, daily prompts to get your child writing about their experiences and emotions, and even weekly activities to encourage them to dig even deeper.

7. A Wearable Blanket

Getting cozy and bundling up is what winter is all about, so another potential gift for your kiddo would be a wearable blanket! These function the same as a hoodie, except they’re typically much bulkier and snuggly. And they come in lots of cute designs as well.

8. A Paper Airplanes Kit

And of course, a list of unique Christmas gifts for kids wouldn’t be complete without a craft for your child to try out. And my nomination is this paper airplanes kit!

It includes fifty-six pages of instruction on how to build ten different models of paper airplanes, plus it comes with forty colorful sheets of paper for your child to use. It’s meant for children ages seven and up, and I think it could be a great experience to add to your roster of snow day activities.

9. STEM Building Blocks

I’ve included a lot of gift options for slightly older kids and teens so far, but if you’re shopping for a toddler, then you could look into getting them this STEM building blocks set! It contains one-hundred colorful magnetic pieces, and allows your child to build anything their imagination comes up with.

Which can help toddlers…

  • Learn to identify colors
  • Recognize and create different shapes
  • And expand their creativity!

10. A Star Projector

Lastly, I think a really unique gift for kids of any age is this star projector, which they can have in their room. It essentially functions as a nightlight, except it illuminates their room in star patterns. With varying colors and brightness that you can choose through a remote control.

Plus, it contains a few added bonuses… Such as a Bluetooth speaker to play music, a few white noise options to promote better sleep, and even a timer so that it automatically turns off after a certain amount of time. It’s a great way to elevate your child’s room, and their bedtime experience.
