1. Little Blue Truck’s Valentine

The Little Blue Truck series is extremely popular, and has several installments that relate to specific holidays. Including, you guessed it, V-Day!

Little Blue Truck’s Valentine is the perfect book for young kids (1-3), and follows the beloved truck as he delivers Valentine’s Day cards to all of his friends. Aside from the adorable storyline that focuses on the value of friendship… It also includes beautiful, colorful illustrations that children will love.

2. Happy Valentine’s Day, Mouse!

Happy Valentine’s Day, Mouse is a simple board book for ages 1-3. The story is about a cute mouse making specialized V-Day cards for all of his friends. And each page of the book represents a different one.

Once again, the focus is on the love that close friends share. And the illustrations will keep your child entertained even when you aren’t reading to them!

3. Llama Llama I Love You

Next, we have Llama Llama I Love You. Which is another board book for ages 1-3, that’s also part of a larger series!

Specifically, this book explores little Llama Llama’s family and friends showing him love and gifting him cards on Valentine’s Day. Just like the previous two books, this board book stands out because of it’s adorable illustrations and it’s durability!

4. I’ll Love You Till The Cows Come Home

Another board book that’s perfect for littles ones (0-2) is I’ll Love You Till The Cows Come Home. This book is full of humorous rhymes that relate to the saying that is the book’s namesake.

And you guessed it, the illustrations are beautiful and engaging! It’s a fantastic little storybook to remind your little one how much you love them, during Valentine’s Day or any other time.

5. Love Is My Favorite Thing

Taking a break from the board books, we have Love Is My Favorite Thing. This is a picture book based on the author’s own dog, and is an ode to how loving she really is. And… how much her family loves her in return.

Obviously, the topic of love makes it the perfect addition to our list of Valentines books for kids. And it’s entertaining for children of a larger range of ages, 2-6 to be exact.

6. The Biggest Valentine Ever

Our next book, The Biggest Valentine Ever, actually has an extra moral of the story (aside from just discussing love for those surrounding you) and it is conflict resolution. Because this picture book (for ages 3-6) follows two mice who get into a fight after their plans to make a valentine for their teacher goes awry. Don’t worry, this whimsically illustrated book has a happy ending!

7. Happy Valentine’s Day, Curious George!

I don’t know about you, but I’m a huge Curious George fan and so are both of my girls. So this book… titled Happy Valentine’s Day, Curious George, is one of my personal favs from this list.

It’s meant for ages 2-4, and follows Curious George as he celebrates this holiday. The story is funny and heartwarming, and the book is engaging as well! Since it contains various fold-out flaps that hide bonus scenes nested in the regular ones.

8. How To Catch A Loveosaurus

How To Catch A Loveosaurus is a tale that could entertain children from the ages of 4-10 with it’s imaginative storytelling. As it follows a group of children who are trying to catch a Loveosaurus (a magical creature who’s trying to spread love and kindness).

It has a fun plotline, eye-catching illustrations, and a positive message!

9. Pete The Cat: Valentine’s Day Is Cool

Pete The Cat: Valentine’s Day Is Cool comes with more than just a fun story about a cat figuring out how awesome V-Day is… It also includes a poster, some punch out Valentine’s Day cards for your kiddo to give out, and some cool stickers too.

This read is perfect for kids ages 3-6.

10. The Berenstain Bears’ Valentine Blessings

Curious George isn’t the only famous character to show up on this list of Valentines books for kids, because a very popular family of bears is also making an appearance.

The Berenstain Bears’ Valentine Blessings is a charming read for kids aged 3-6; and follows a somewhat relatable story… Of a sister finding our her brother received a valentine and teasing him mercilessly for it! Don’t worry though, Mama and Papa bear swoop in with just the right story…
